ELDER ZACK WHITNEY

Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

New Assistant to the President

New Assistant to the President
There are three of us (assistants) right now, but Elder Saenz goes home in like three weeks, so it will just be me and Elder Tilley my last 8 weeks or so.
I love being AP. There is a lot of pressure and stress sometimes and a lack of sleep, but seriously it’s so so so cool. Definitely one of the biggest blessings I could have ever received on my mission.

January 3, 2011

Dearest family,
Our new years was pretty good, it was really weird though, president wanted us to go in at 8 and set goals and stuff then read Matthew 24 and 25. That’s about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Is president trying to scare us or something? This guy in our ward called president though and asked him if we could stay out a little later and eat dinner with his family so that was cool. Everyone was just drunk and screaming so it was kind of hard to fall asleep.
On Saturday we went and had a barbeque with the Cruz family where we called you guys from. That was really good. Everyone was either sleeping or drunk that day so we didn’t do much. We were going to go with the bishop from Gabriela my old ward and his family today to some lake way up in the mountains but we got there and his truck was leaking oil. It was a bummer, cause I really wanted to go. I’m not sure if we are going to be able to go next week cause there are changes. It was really good going back to my old sector and seeing everyone. We talked to the Contreras family too, which was way awesome. they aren’t going to church anymore though cause they changed the bishop so that sucks. They are going to come to our war though next Sunday. I miss that ward a lot it was so awesome.
I cant believe it is 2011... its weird to say that I started my mission in 2009.. That’s so crazy that Christian Clayton is going to get his mission call. I swear he is still like 16 or 17. I would love a keyboard for Christmas and I don’t even play piano! I thought Brigham liked to play, does he not that much anymore? Our church changed to 11, so more people come, there was a ton yesterday, there were 144 people.
I have been enjoying the candy and everything you sent me. The chilenismos book is really good to, cause now I can speak gangster. I’m really glad Packers won. They better beat dads Eagles next week. Michael Vick aint got nothing. Where is the new airport at? That’s really crazy its already built. Isn’t it close to our house?
I love you guys! I hope you have a good week!
Chao!
Love Elder Whitney
Here’s some pictures of the baptisms of Cati and Umberto.. and during Christmas.. and today (Monday) in the morning with Paulina Contreras and her daughter who is going to get baptized in 2 weeks. The baby is the baby of the wife of the bishops son who I taught a little, and she got baptized with elder Vargs. I never got to see her baby cause she was pregnant went I left.
