Hello Family!
That’s way sweet about the fire station and that statue is awesome. I had no idea that grandpa was so loved by the community and by the fire station. That’s so awesome that they named it after grandpa. Things look like they are doing really good over there.
So last p-day I was walking with my 2 companions... Ya I was in a trio for a while cause elder Macias’s comp got way sick and he was sick for like 4 weeks so he finally had to go home. So I was with the 2 zone leaders for a couple days... but anyways the assistants called my comp and wanted to talk to me... I got ANOTHER SPECIAL CHANGE. I have never had a normal change yet in my mission. I had to pack all my stuff and everything in one night and after lunch the next day the assistants were going to come and pick me up. I only got to say goodbye to the Contreras family and the bishop and his family and all the other elders at zone class. It was pretty hard to say goodbye to my converts. We were way close and I was a part of their family. It was the coolest thing to watch their life change and to experiment all the things I did with them. I never thought in my life that I would cry while saying goodbye, but I did shed a few tears. They were way sad too. I called Christian because he was working when I went over there, but he told me that I helped their family so much and that I would always be a part of it. They told me to thank you guys also, so here is their thanks!
Well I got changed to El valle.. (the valley) its another ward in my first stake La reina. Its going to be so cool to see my converts and all the members I met, again. My comp is elder Valverde from Ecuador. He is way awesome, and way funny. We get along way good. He actually speaks pretty good English too, its funny to hear him talk. Its so sweet cause I’m living with elder Boyce and elder Barney. Boyce was in my district in the MTC and we are way tight. I arrived here with elder Barney too. Its so fun in the pension ha-ha.
El valle is way awesome too, its a pretty big sector, a lot bigger than my last one. Its super super ghetto too, their are a ton of gangsters. Someone threw a rock at us the other day. We had like almost no investigators when I first got here, so like all we did this week was knock and try and contact old investigadores. It was pretty tough but I know I’m going to love this ward. The bishop is way awesome too, I’m lucking out on all the awesome bishops that I have.
Sunday this lady we are teaching came to church with her daughter that is 9 years. Hopefully her and her family all get baptized soon.
That’s a really cool experience with Alex, that kind of stuff always happens. That’s too bad about Preston, does he go to seminary and all that stuff? I think all kids go through that phase, I did too for a long time, but ya I’m definitely going to write him next week.
Mike looks like he is balling it up in Buenos Aires, the old guy in his picture reminds me of this 98 year old lady in our ward that is hilarious. She hits people with her cane, and I seriously think she could run if she wanted, she is so healthy. She will hit you with her cane and when you look over she looks a way and keeps a straight face.
Today for p-day we played basketball with some other elders and made tacos at the church.
Tell Brigham and Caleb that I love them and tell them to keep working hard. Maddie wrote me last week so I’m going to write her back soon, it sounds like she is doing really good though.
I love all you guys and hope that everything goes good!!!
Love Elder Whitney
P.S Buy a way sweet wakeboard... please
